Registration now open for Assessment, Mitigation & Treatment of Radiation Injury:
October 8-10, 2014 in Baltimore, MD
The tremendous environmental, social, and medical cost of a large-scale release of nuclear or radiological material as a result of deliberate attack or natural disaster has led to several programs aimed at improving national and local preparedness. The Centers for Medical Countermeasures Against Radiation (CMCR) will convene a three-day workshop on the Assessment, Mitigation and Treatment of Radiation Injury from October 8-10, 2014, which will cover topics such as biomarkers and biodosimetry, suitability of animal models, small molecules, growth factors, and cells as mitigators, as well as their mechanisms of action in radiation-damaged tissues, late effects of acute and prolonged exposure, survivorship issues, and future developments.

Registration rates are $350 for the full conference or $150 for one-day attendance.

NEW LOWER HOTEL PRICE!
CMCR is proud to announce they just received the government rate of $147 a night for the hotel for all attendees! Enjoy the Embassy Suites Baltimore Inner Harbor even more now with a lower price! Book your hotel now!

The meeting will provide an open forum for invited and plenary speakers and discussants to assess progress on issues related to radiation injury, assessment, mitigation, and treatment. Various radiation scenarios will be presented along with novel approaches at multiple stages of development.

Note that a "mitigator" of radiation damage must be formulated for delivery by the oral, subcutaneous, or intravenous routes and be effective when given at least 24 hours after exposure.

Abstracts will be considered for presentation; please submit to Ekaterini Angelis at EAngelis@mednet.ucla.edu.
