PLEASE REPLY TO REMAIN AN RRS EMERITUS MEMBER
Dear Emeritus Member:

We are hopeful that you will take a few minutes to consider an important issue currently under discussion by RRS leadership.

Many scientific and professional societies, including the RRS, are experiencing rapid growth of their Emeritus Members.  We now have 303 Emeritus Members, upfrom240 during the years encompassing 2005-2013. Our Emeritus Members are a valuable asset to the Society as they represent its corporate and scientific history and provide a library of research studies completed over the span of their career.  Even after retirement, many remain active in their profession and continue to make significant contributions to the scientific programs of the annual meetings as well as the RRS journal. In return, the Society offers benefits to Emeritus Members including: electronic access to the RRS journal and reduced registration fees at the annual meetings. Emeritus Members are currently not charged a RRS membership fee.

The RRS welcomes continued participation of the Emeritus Members as long as the interest remains and as long they are able to do so.  The society also recognizes that for some Emeritus Members, there will come a time when circumstances prevent them from remaining a member.  Given the information and the Society's interest in administering input from Emeritus members in a fair, open and transparent manner,we would be most appreciative if you would use the link below to complete and return a brief form that will inform us of your desire to remain a member of the RRS. If you choose not to remain an Emeritus Member now, please be advised that you can be reinstated as an Emeritus Member at a later date by writing to the Society's administrative office and requesting reinstatement. In order to maintain accurate information on the RRS Emeritus Members, we would appreciate your response no later than Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

COLOR RETURNS TO ANNUAL DEBATE!
RRS proudly returns to the tradition of days gone by, when the annual debates were full of fun, colorful characters and controversy. In 2015 RRS reinstates the original name, The Painter Debates in honor of the late Robert PainterBob was so well known for encouraging open and free discussion that the Radiation Research Society initiated the ''Painter Debate'' which addressed controversial topics at its annual meeting.

Join us Saturday, September 19th for the annual Painter Debate. This year's topic: "This House Believes that Radiation Does Not Offer Any Carcinogenic Risk to Astronauts", argued by Doug Boreham (Pro) and Michael Weil (Con) with introduction by Martin Brown.
