<description><![CDATA[<div style="margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1em; font-family: Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">Dear RRS Members,<br /><br />As many of you are aware, we suffered the tragic and heartbreaking loss of one of our members on the final day of the 2025 Annual Meeting at the Caribe Hilton.</div><div style="margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1em; font-family: Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">Meihong Cai was a new SIT Member who was honored with a SIT Travel Award for her research abstract "<i>Interleukin-7 affects multilineage hematopoietic recovery following radiation injury</i>." &nbsp;Meihong was presenting during Poster Session 2- PS2-7 in San Juan.</div><div style="margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1em; font-family: Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">We understand currently that funds are being raised for the family to take care of Meihong privately throughout her Chinese communities, however, this donation information has not yet been shared with the RRS. We will make it available on this page, when we receive access. We are in touch with her mentor, and we are closely following Duke University’s work to help navigate diplomatic procedures.&nbsp;We are continuing to ensure that she makes it home, and the Caribe Hilton has agreed to host her family cost-free during this process.<br /><br />In addition to the private support provided to Meihong’s family, the RRS leadership has put forward some suggestions to honor her:</div><ul><li style="margin-top: 1em; margin-bottom: 1em; font-family: Aptos, Aptos_EmbeddedFont, Aptos_MSFontService, Calibri, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt; color: #000000;">Should anyone wish to donate funds to honor her legacy, our preliminary discussions have been focused on potentially developing a SIT poster event or scholarship in her name. Please use the<strong><a href="https://www.radres.org/donations/donate.asp?id=6569" target="_blank"> <span style="text-decoration: underline;">General Fund</span></a></strong> on the radres.org support page.
