Dear SIT Members,

The RRS (Radiation Research Society)/CRH (Conference on Radiation & Health) meeting is over now and I hope it was a fruitful reunion for the people who attended it. I personally enjoyed the program and learnt a lot during the seminars. For me, it is time to review the notes that I took as well as preparing myself for another year of research before the next RRS meeting.

I would like to share with you some of the experience that I gained and also information that I obtained during the meeting, and I hope that you can find it useful. One of my best experiences at RRS was to serve in the SIT organization committee. We have an energetic group of people from different disciplines and it is a pleasure to work with them. I would also like to mention that we will have 5 new openings in the committee that will be advertised soon. I think it is a great opportunity for SITs to contribute and grow in the SIT organization committee. During the SIT meeting, we received great support from the RRS vice president Prof. Kevin Prise. One the subjects that we discussed with him during the SIT committee meeting was to increase the number of oral presentations from SITs for the next RRS meeting. We thought one of the best ways to do so is to provide the list of papers that are listed in the SIT newsletter. Then, the papers will be distributed to the session chairs to help selecting SIT oral presentations together with the abstracts submitted to the meeting. Please send us your recent publications to be advertised in the newsletter.

I also have exciting information for the SITs who are interested in reviewing papers for RRS Journal. Professor Marc Mendonca suggested that those interested should send a copy of their CVs with a list of subjects that they are capable of reviewing to the SIT committee. The CVs will be distributed to the editors with the help of Prof. Mendonca.

The final announcement is that we will have a short survey for the SITs. Please take your time to fill out the survey if you have not done so already. This will greatly help us to prepare a better SIT Symposium next year.
