Researchers & Clinicians   Teachers & Students
New York Academy of Sciences- Science Alliance
Through its seminars, workshops and courses, Science Alliance offers early career researchers unparalleled opportunities to learn and network across institutions, disciplines and industries.

  Afterschool STEM Mentoring Program
The New York Academy of Sciences recruits professionals, postdocs, and grad students to act as role models and mentors to STEM-interested students and problem solvers in communities around the world.

Alda Center for Communication
The Alan Alda Center for Communicating Science empowers scientists and health professionals to communicate complex topics in clear, vivid, and engaging ways; leading to improved understanding by the public, media, patients, elected officials, and others outside of their own discipline. This multidisciplinary approach to science communication training helps trainees tap into innate connections that come alive naturally when people recall a passion for their work.
Double Discovery College Students and Science Honors Program
The Columbia University Science Honors Program (SHP) is a highly selective program for high school students who have a strong interest in the sciences and mathematics. The SHP holds classes at Columbia from 10:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
ESTRO School
ESTRO has become an internationally recognised provider of high quality education to meet the need for basic training and continuing professional development in radiotherapy and oncology. ESTRO promotes multidisciplinary education in oncology, with the objective of standardising knowledge and clinical practice, whilst recognising the diversity of radiation oncology practice in different parts of the world.

The New York City Science and Engineering Fair
Run by the New York Academy of Sciences, these are events that offer an opportunity for students to get excited about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) while spending quality time with their family.
Concert Short Courses
By joint programming, defining joint research priorities and road mapping CONCERT is guiding radiation protection research in Europe. This joint effort is performed with a strategic perspective on supporting excellent science, on building and maintaining high competence in radiation and radiation protection science as well as further promoting integrative and multidisciplinary research on a European level. CONCERT contributes to the sustainable integration of European and national research programmes in the field of radiation protection.

  Microbeam Training Course
The RARAF microbeam training course at Columbia University's Nevis Laboratory in Irvington, New York is designed to provide a “pipeline” of researchers interested in the use and development of microbeam facilities for research in biology, radiation biology, and radiation physics. This intense program is taught by leading Columbia University biologists and physicists who are pioneers in the development and use of microbeam technologies.
Effects of Radiation: An Introduction to Radiation and Radioactivity
Learn from Hokkaido University in Japan about the detection, measurement, chemistry, and effects of radiation in industry, medicine, and society.
Masterclass in Radiological Sciences at Columbia
Our curriculum is aimed at fulfilling an unmet need for public health expertise in understanding and communicating the health effects of radiation exposure. The unique focus of the Radiological Sciences track, the first such program offered by a School of Public Health, is at the intersection of environmental health science and the human health risks of radiation exposure arising from accident, nuclear disaster, or terrorism.
Through rigorous coursework, practicum, and research, students will gain valuable expertise and training in health physics and radiobiology, conceptual and methodological foundations in biostatistics and epidemiology, and critical thinking and practical skills through hands-on experience. Students will learn how to conduct studies on the effects of radiation in a variety of biological systems.

Nature Masterclass
Online training in writing, publishing, peer review and, soon, collaboration in research.
"Animal Models in Space Research" Conference
October 4, 2019
The purpose of this Topical Day is threefold: (1) to give a review of animal models used to study space-related health problems, (2) to discuss future strategies for sustaining and improving space animal model research in Europe, and (3) to develop new collaborations in this field.
